You claim that you had no way to know that things would be this broken. I disagree.
You never got more than a few people on the game at once. Thus, you were never able to test larger server loads. You assumed it would be fine, and it wasn't. That's on you.
Because you never got more than a few people on the game at once, you also apparently didn't deal with people able and willing to abuse jumping or whatnot, and thus didn't have to consider how to throttle that. Again, your issue.
In essence, I understand what you're saying, in that you didn't have data to demonstrate that specific things were an issue. But you were, I hope, planning for bigger server loads, and so while you did not have this data, you should have tested until you did. That much is unequivocally your mistake. It's not as if the things being demonstrated here are edge cases that could not logically have been caught. These are things you should have known to test for. The fact that you did not know, or did not bother, indicates that you really aren't cut out for this, not yet. As I said before, I hope you're able to learn from this.
For now, though, my advice is simple. Take it on the chin, stop trying to defer culpability.
