201, I really think you are overestimating the effects a lockdown would have. China did it very successfully, for a month or so, and they were able to bring it under control. There wasn't that much crime or mass suicides, etc etc etc. Instead , the number of cases fell dramatically. I still think you don't realize the gravity of the situation. The experts, the CDC etc, is projecting a majoritty of the population to come into contact with the virus. With a 3-4% mortality rate, that translates to hundreds of thousands of deaths, overburdened medical facilities, potential rioting/gun fights etc with shortage of food and medical supplies. I don't know if anyone realizes the danger with the number of guns owned by individuals in the US.
I do think that a lockdown is the only way this can be possibly controled, and not doing it will cause this to do immeasurable damage to society.
As for the six-feet rule, this is all for minimizing spread through air droplets. Though it can still spread through a surface, this decreases the ammount of spread.
