If it can be ported to Windows, you can embed it as a scripting language in a C/C++ app. I'm not sure how portable it is in that regard, or how easy to embed.
Problem with normal Python embedding is that it is very difficult to do and even more difficult to do right, but a nice stripped down Python might be just the ticket.
