This person needs to put their mask and gloves on, go outside, find the nearest plant and apologize to it profusely for wasting the oxygen that it has to work so hard to produce.
COVID-19 is not the flu, you can't go out tomorrow and get inoculated against whatever mutation of the virus that just so happens to be the cool kid at that particular time. We still don't know if you can develop an immunity to the virus.
People always go on about how much of a nothingburger Y2K was, completely ignorant of just how many people busted their asses to make it so. This corona virus denial/downplaying? It's just more of the same bullshit where people are suddenly fucking experts and know everything because they watched the news.
Heard immunity? The UK pissed about with that strategy, because we're all supposed to be British bulldogs with the hearts of lions that ward off death and disease by singing a rousing chorus of god save the queen every morning or something, but you can see how well that worked out for us.
Yet so many complete fucking mouth breathers insist that that's the only way forward, that we just have to not be pussies, open everything back up and take it on the jaw because it's just a flu bro! Also while we're at it burn everything that looks like radio communications gear, because that 5G shit is the spawn of Satan.
The entire situation only seems like not such a big deal (relatively speaking) because we're all busting ass and getting cabin fever to buy time until a group of actual experts (not Karren on Facebook) can come up with a solution that will stop this virus from murdering a sizable chunk of us.
