She was absolutely an idiot, but so was he. Being black shouldn't allow him to duck out on that one.
He approached her in a remote part of central park, a place where you already kind of have to be on your guard as it is at eight in the morning. He attempts to take possession of her dog against her will (breaching whatever social distancing laws that were active at the time). He films her, again against her will probably ratcheting up the uncomfortableness factor. Every action this guy takes is designed to provoke her and escalate the situation. When the video opens she's already engrossed in getting her dog back on a leash and only flips the fuck out when she realizes she's being filmed.
Amy Cooper still committed the greater wrong here by playing the race card and attempting to weaponize the police, but Christian Cooper is far from the innocent black man he's portrayed to be by media outlets across the world.
This situation is such a shaky peg to hang the america is racist coat on, because both of these people suck and mainstream media left out so much of the context here it's not even funny.
