Well, let me tell you a story. I guess I've mentioned it in a different topic but eh, I'm not even sure. ![big_smile]()
So we had our online learning period on discord. Needless to say, the voice quality was so poor that I had a teacher who I asked after every second sentence like please repeat what you said because I didn't really got it. She, of course, repeated but it was still embarrassing and comfusing at the same time. I'm not an expert in repairing soundcards and mycrophones but since I've also had several problems with it on my previous laptop, I know the basics of repairing or changing drivers. One day, when we had absolutely enough of repeating and repeating, I told her if she wants and if she trusts me, we could do something about it. So she called me somewhere else, maybe messenger, I don't really remember, and we changed her driver. Everything went smoothly, it worked, but when we were on discord it was shitty again, just like before. We went into her discord settings, changed a few stuff regarding sound, being in high hopes it would increase the quality, but it didn't. We didn't give up and we still tried to enhance it somehow but without any success. So I'd vote on teamtalk regarding sound quality, but discord is somewhat better regarding customisability and everything else. I'm not saying discord should support the built in stereo mycrophone in my laptop, I can live without that of course, but it shouldn't decrease the sound quality this badly. And no, I don't want to listen to my friends eating chips in front of their jeti, I just want to hear people without asking back. ![smile]()
And no, I'm not deaf or anything, I don't even know how to describe how it sounded like. The teacher started a sentence and after like 2 words, her voice suddenly went silent as if the mycrophone didn't sense her voice, and whole words were filtered out. Seriously, sometimes it felt like if she was swearing and discord censored it LOL of course it wasn't the situation but learning german like this wasn't fun at all. Thinking back to that time it's already fun because everyone had the same experience and we were quite amused when we told it to eachother but before final exam, it wasn't that fun.
