Re: Cosmic rage activities, my thoughts so far.

Well I’m back to cosmic rage, and so have tried a few more activities.
I’m still getting to grips with Farming but here are my thoughts on planetoid harvesting, smuggling and wax sculpting.

Planetoid Harvesting
Okay planetoid harvesting unfortunately shares the same problem with asteroid harvesting in terms of the reward, especially when compared to planetoid grabbing (, and even more especially compared to the amount of upgrades you need to do it, considering you need mineral upgrades to carry the cargo, the right harvesting equipment, and even armour, since otherwise your harvesting equipment goes poof after one pass. Whether the minerals themselves become useful later for crafting I don’t know, but I really wish rewards here were tweaked.
On the plus side collecting those jammed objects provides a nice distraction, albeit it technically makes planetoid harvesting slightly less an idle activity than asteroid harvesting, which given, the payout is not a good thing.
The credit rewards for getting those jammed items to Sarah Silver scale are nice though, albeit they still slightly pale in comparison to planetoid grabbing (really I got literally four times as many points for two planetoids grabbed as I did for 6000 assorted minerals and 12 found objects).
smuggling
A really easy activity to do, and one with a stupidly high payout, albeit I suspect the risks when your court probably make the payout worth it judging by the help file. Still, as you can smuggle quickly, it’s probably the fastest way of getting cash and points I’ve seen, especially if you use a relatively crappy ship to do it.
Again, wouldn’t be so bad, if it compared better to activities like asteroid and planetoid harvesting, since yee gods, crime really does pay in this universe! big_smile.

Wax sculpting
Okay getting the wax for this one is actually pretty cool, being as you sort of have to do a mini combat scenario with the bees and can have your drones killed if you don’t do the right thing.
I do sort of wish there was more of a finding materials vibe, EG different colours or consistencies of wax, rather than just having wax as a basic material, and you just able to write any description you like, actually given that this is one of the mot interesting resource collection activities I’ve seen so far, especially since you basically just sort of have to be lucky when wandering around to stumble on a hive, I’d like to see this one expanded, with more wax types, and maybe more interactive crafting too.
