@8 And dude, I get the pessimism, but there are so many small-scale multiplayer games out there, including Swamp for all its warts, and while folks certainly complain, they do come back and keep playing. I get that it's a hard computer science problem, and it's certainly not anything someone without experience can do in a weekend. But maybe step back a little and don't rain on everyone's parade?
Having said that, I do want to agree on carefully screening folks from here. This place is a bit of a dumpster fire for all the reasons you've mentioned re: dangling a project out for folks who may not have much money and lack scruples. But unless standards here are super high, which I can't imagine they'd be if Swamp is part of these discussions, then networking shouldn't be the bottleneck of this project.
