Re: Knfb reader and how great it is.
That, and it depends on the phone and IOS version, as well as lighting levels, to a degree, I heard turning on flash helps, as well as taking the picture about a foot away from the page.
It could also be a case, an object the letter is on, etc.
A still very good but also cheaper alternative to KNFB Reader is Text Grabber, which has a demonstration on youtube, and was widely recognized as being the best OCR app before KNFB Reader came along. And even though KNFB may have a bit more support for fine tuning the angle and more export options, as well as instant braille support, which are useful for vision teachers and such, the recognition it's self is basically just as accurate, and it runs on phones down to 3gs, not only 5 and above like KNFB Reader, as well as sporting many many more language translation options. If you grab Text Grabber near this time, pun not at first intended but now certainly so... Than you can get it fo r a hole 80 percent off the normal price.
Another app to compliment Text Grabber which, by the way is also available on android, is Talking Goggles, it's only 1 99, and it also has a demonstration on youtube, I believe it was mentioned earlier here and it's a good companion app for a full OCR reader, because it does the same thing, but in real time using video, and with out in depth scanning, again, also sporting many languages, and being self voicing in this apps case.
Both are also fully accessible with voice over.
