Thanks for the suggestions - I'm busily copying CDs to *.wav files via EAC. I used the settings for EAC recommended at the Hydrogenaudio website.
Question(s) about FLAC - I haven't been able to find any suggestions on what settings to use with it. The FLAC website doesn't seem to explain much about the GUI or the various settings, surprisingly. For example, what level of encoding do I want to use (it defaults to "Level 6") Should I check or uncheck replay gain (and what does it do anyways?) I have Verify, and Add Tags checked. Replay Gain, Align on Sector Boundaries, and Cuesheet are unchecked. Ogg-Flac and Decode through Errors are both unchecked.
