I was only half-joking, but that's pretty ridiculous considering how
much they cost.

I have a Pink Triangle that I bought twenty five years ago with a
Mission 774 arm on it and it still sounds wonderful. It was upgraded
for me by PT before they imploded and I've just unpacked it and started
listening to LPs again. I've been using a M-Audio 2496 card to digitise
some albums so far, but have you come across any good software for
breaking up the tracks? I'm not too fussed about pops and clicks, I'd
rather keep the unadulterated sound and clean the records first rather
than try to cover up afterwards. In fact I get all nostalgic when
listening to the recordings - the sound of LPs is so involving to me at
least.
