Good news, i narrowed it down to one single issue, reproducable. Problem occurs only with APE files, when you let SlimServer convert them to WAV files, if I let them convert to FLAC, the problem is solved. I had WAV selected, because it should (in theory) have the least processing requirements on both the SlimServer and also on the SB3 (skipping FLAC encoding/decoding step), but more network traffic, but that's not an issue with the hard-wired setup I have.
So, I for now I will just enable FLAC encoding. But it should be obvious, this is a flaw that should be fixed. I'd be happy to provide a recording, if that is still needed?
