I was also debating whether to sacrifice the supplied switcher supply for the cord or get a new one. I figured, why not use the original cord. Less hassle. I can always resolder it to the switcher, but I don't think that's ever gonna happen :-)
As for my little "space heater" it's making my SB3 sound better than ever. Buttery smooth in the mids with great dynamic contrasts.
