I'd like to see both some form of dynamics plug-in and an Eq/tone controls.
The dynamics module would be especially great for dinner parties etcwhen you need background music of limited dynamic range. The quiet bits don't drop away completely and the loud bits don't kill conversation. Eq would allow those of us with minimal systems (just Squeezebox into active monitors) to apply a little tonal compensation here and there.
