Here's another vote for ATC speakers. Something to consider regarding the subwoofer issue is that Quads ESLs (well, I've only ever heard 57s and 63s) pretty much need a subwoofer due to their restricted bass response. Speakers like ATC SCM100s and 50s have pretty good bass on their own. Even the 20s don't disgrace themselves. Unless you're an organ or D'n'B freak, I think you might be satisfied with a moving coil speaker without subwoofer.

As an SCM100 owner, I tend to think of the 50s as reasonably compact, but I suppose on an absolute scale they are fairly big (but nowhere near as domineering as Quads). -- cliveb ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cliveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=348 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=23172 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
