The Parasound appears to have an input sensitivity of 150mV for 1V of output and a max output voltage of 7.6V. Not sure about the input sensitivity of your ada amp...
Normally you'd run the power amp wide open and use the pre-amp vol to set the listening level...you shoudn't be getting speaker cone distortion with this setup unless you are running everything at full tilt (in which case you almost certainly will, that 8 inch woofer can only do so much!) Maybe the pre-amp is overloading the power amp input?
