Totally agree, and a *lot* of indie labels are seeing a real upsurge in
vinyl sales. People do want the whole package, the artwork, lyric
sheets, photos etc. I think it's very important and the MP3 era has
lost that aspect. iTunes is the personification of convenience over
qualitative value but y'know, it's good. I can't deny that.

I try and get the best of both worlds by downloading what I can and
buying vinyl also. I basically do both and my current system has been
severely rationalised so now I just have a SB3 and a turntable (via
tube phono), both going through a passive pre and out to active
speakers. It's heaven really, I can use the brilliant convenience of
SB3 or I can go all hair-shirt and dig out some vinyl when I want to
reassuring pop and crackle and can gaze lovingly at the gatefold. It's
not even expensive tbh and I really enjoy combining the two aspects of
music listening.
