Alternatively, why not go with quality Powered Speakers? Besides my Primary 2-channel "audiophile" setup, I have two "secondary" Squeezebox systems.
In my Game Room I have an SB3 directly feeding Swan S200a powered speakers http://www.swanspeaker.com/product/htm/view.asp?id=256, and they sound great (surprisingly good bass for a small enclosure). There are also some good satellite/sub powered systems out there as well. In my Master BR I have flush mounted ceiling speakers, with an SB2 feeding a Russound R235LS 35 watt amp, with auto-sensing input (~$200 street price), mounted out of view on the back of a dresser. Both these solutions work surprisingly well. -- sleepysurf squeezebox2 (with elpac linear psu) to benchmark dac1, direct to sunfire cinema grand 200 ~five (vertically bi-amped) driving ml aerius i's, blue jeans cables.
