I mostly rip and tag on a local drive and then transfer the album over to the NAS, but I also do a lot of tag corrections directly on the NAS. I actually retagged my entire library once - about 7000 files at the time. I loaded the whole library into Mp3tag and then ran an 'action' to rewrite a tag (ALBUMSORT) in all files. Loading all the tracks, which required Mp3tag to read every tag from every file, took only a couple minutes.
