First of all, congratulations to Sean and the Slim Devices crew. >From the specs the unit looks like a killer. However, I really think the design is 50/50. Don't know wether I like it or not. I don't really think that the two toned finish (silver/black) fits the unit as it did with the SB v3. The black finish is neat though. What made the SB v3 so attractive was the simple design with no front panel buttons or other "gimmicks". The Transporter looks "raw" but all those buttons on the front panel is really overkill in my opinion. All you need is already featured on the remote so why all those buttons? Just take a look at Danish high-end audio equipments from e.g. Densen, Primare, GamuT...pure minimalistic material but still fully functional (and superb sounding).
The sound is of course the most important factor of all and at $2000 it seems like a good bargain. However, the design also plays an important role...at least for me. I'm probably the only one here to give the design some criticism. What do you guys think about the design? -- Ali-M ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ali-M's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=5844 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25773 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
