I have not spent much time with it yet - just did a quick setup to my
living room theatre system, which is in the most, shall we say,
"acoustically challenging" room I could think of. Square except for a
massive opening on one side of the room, hardwood floors around the
perimeter, etc. Unfortunately the XP thought my bass response was SO
poor that it massively overcorrected for it, so much that I could not
even have a good listen to anything else that was going on because the
sound was drowned out by booming bass. I have not tried using the
PC-based tools yet to tune the curve, but I think this room is just
hopeless and it's not even a fair test of the XP, since my bass drivers
definitely are underpowered for the size of the room.

Still, I think it would be reasonable for the XP not to apply frequency
response correction way beyond what the speakers are physically capable
of - it would have been nice to be able to hear the finer improvements
in phase correction, echo cancellation and such without having to
manually get in and fix the curve. I will try it in some more
reasonable setups, but I bought the digital-only version which means I
will have to shuffle around some equipment in order to set it up.

FWIW the thing is very sensitive. After I ran the calibration I
realized that my guitar sitting in the corner of the room was
resonating. I removed the guitar, ran the calibration again and the
whole system sounded quite different. So it's doing _something_, just
hard to say what at this point!
