wow - that's interesting. I have the original 2.2 (not the XP) and it only ever tries to cut my bass!. Mind you, at the same time it is boosting the midrange by 10dB...definitely no boom here. One thing...I do have a sub woofer though. Maybe you need to tweak the curve to avoid overboosting the LF, given your speakers - not sure how that works on the XP.
I think you need to put aside an evening and a good glass of wine (or whatever) and try again...from my experience you need to lower the overall curve (and hence the available headroom of the system) to make sure that the curve is never boosting too much anywhere across the spectrum. I'll admit I don't have any experience with low(ish) headroom systems but from what I remember of other TACT users experiences you should be able get a good sound even with your room. I know every room is different, but all the TACT curves I've seen have mostly been about reducing the HF and LF and boosting the mids to get a flat response with a gradually tailing-off top end. These have all been reasonably high-end systems with extended LF response (ie <40Hz @ reasonable power). If your speakers are seriously challenged at power delivery at the bottom end, you may have a problem that RC can't handle! -- Phil Leigh ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Phil Leigh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=85 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=25812 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
