davidd I used a SB2 with a AVR200 through the digital input and frankly found the sound very disappointing, went back to using a Meridian 203DAC into the AVR200 and its was a quantum leap better.
Personally I think the AVR200 is a very weak product, I bought one as a potential one-box solution, hopefully replacing a Meridian 203DAC, Naim 62/140 and Yamaha DSPE800. It was just about passable on two channel but very weak on surround sound and really struggled to drive my speakers (Shahinain Arcs at the front). But maybe its matched to other Arcam products and sound better with an Arcam source. I kept it less than 2 months and replaced it with a Meridian 568 (which does stereo and surround duties)and a couple of Meridian Power Amps and have never looked back. Fortunately I buy a lot of my audio kit s/h so the financial hit wasn't that great.
