I am running the SB3 straight into my amp using some 10db Rothwell attenuators to reduce the signal down. It works well, but I also use the secondary volume control (or preamp volume control) to knock another 5db off. I was using a preamp but found the preamp was muddying up the sound a little. Straight through with the attenuators gives better sound even without maxing out the volume control. You can find the Rothwells on Ebay in Australia, or buy them straight from Rothwell in the UK. I am chasing quite a nice integrated amp at the moment and I will see if it is any better than my old mosfet power amp with the attenuators. I am also delving into DRC....
