My original plan was to selectively rip. With hard drive prices falling so fast, I kept expanding my parameters as to what I would rip. Now, unless its in the car (for a long road trip) I very rarely play an original CD.
My suggestion-take your dodgy CDs, join lala.com (trading website) and trade them off for something you may like more.
