You might want to try a high quality video or RF cable. While it's easy to pass off pretty much anything as an s/pdif cable, for analog video the quality of the cable is much more apparent.
Personally I use bulk RG6 and Monster QuickLock connectors for just about everything, including analog audio connections. For a few bucks I can make a cable of exactly the length I need, and the performance is marginally better than any pre-made cables I've tried.
