People have all sorts of feelings about these things. I owned a Lavry DA10 for a while and had a Bel Canto DAC2 on loan. Quick answers: yes, they made a difference. Sometimes, it was quite obvious; most of the time, it was negligible -- too negligible for me, in any case, to overcome the law of diminishing returns in terms of cost. Then again, I am not obsessed with having the world's most perfect system, and I am certainly not obsessed with bragging rights, etc. I would like to try other DACs, though, including the Zhaolu.
