Not wanting to get into a logic storm with you guys, but if DBX testing is so great, why haven't we all DBX'd our way to the best speakers, amp, source etc by now?
Isn't the bottom line that DBX can only tell you what is different and that (thankfully?) what is better is left to our own judgement? It strikes me that the effect (if there is any and I think there is) is only audible in certain systems in certain circumstances. Therefore DBX will prove nothing because there are uncontrolled and unbenchmarked variables in the mix.
