When I get asked about power conditioners, I usually ask if they have installed dedicated lines first, because in my personal experience, I found installing a dedicated line to have a far greater effect than getting a power conditioner (I still believe both are worthwhile...even "necessary")...and certainly less expensive than some of the better power conditioners. Seperate dedicated lines for amps and front-end gear is a positive thing...
Power cords are also worth upgrading IMHO, particularly on digital gear. Power amps primarily need a thicker-gauge power cord than the typical 16awg stock cords. AC recepticles...as long as they have a very good "grip", they are good enough IMHO. I've tried various gold-/silver-plated/cryo'd outlets, but as long as the grip has been good, I have not found any of them to be significantly better/different. -- PhilNYC Sonic Spirits Inc. http://www.sonicspirits.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ PhilNYC's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=837 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=27255 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
