Yes, and in fact, US electrical code requries that all breakers tie
back to the same ground.  And yes, noise is not "completely
directional", but the isolation of the wire does help for whatever
reason.

FYI - this is against electrical code (each house is supposed to only
have a single ground).  You may want to check with your homeowners'
insurance to see if this voids your policy.
