Sorry, I think a short answer I wrote injected a bit of confusion... There was a question about the Transporter sounding like a passive pre-amp, a concern sometimes caused by the highish output impedance a passive can have. I had a brain fart, and mentioned the transporters digital domain volume control, intending to emphasize the fact that it meant it there was no way it would cause the output impedance to be high or changing, because the control was long before the output stage. Phil is quite correct, the fact that it's done digitally has nothing to do with it, it's the fact that its done before the output stage.
As for the transporters gain jumpers affecting the output impedance, I doubt they will make a measureable difference. And as I said in the original post, 2m cables are really very short, the transporter won't have any trouble driving them. -- DCtoDaylight ------------------------------------------------------------------------ DCtoDaylight's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7284 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=27158 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
