Thanks for posting this...very informative! I remember speaking to one highly respected DAC designer who told me he liked using transports with SACD mechanisms for his redbook DACs because supposedly the physical angle in which data is laid out on an SACD and the resulting laser angles are actually better for reading redbook CDs than most standard CD/DVD mechanisms...and that he uses a Sony SCD-1 as his reference transport. One small correction: The Transporter claims to have a 35ps jitter measurement at the digital output...the <20ps figures are the measurement at the DAC and the Oscillator (bypassing the SPDIF interface)... -- PhilNYC Sonic Spirits Inc. http://www.sonicspirits.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------ PhilNYC's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=837 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=27452 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
