And I thought I would have an early night! 4am here.
Did nothing by A/B/C listening between A) unclocked Trans+DCC2SE, B)
clocked Trans+DCC2SE and C)Trans Analog Out.

You are absolutely right. I think what shocked me initially turns out
to be a level of fidelity I have not experienced before. Things are SO
clear it's a little eerie at first, but I am learning to appreciate it.
Bass is indeed tighter. The most difference I still find is in the
imaging. Images are now in a much more 3D soundstage. The 'air' quality
is definitely higher as well. So in short, these descriptions apply to
A>B>C. Frankly, C can often be the most comfortable sounding one.
Whereas A has this surreal realism that is hard to resist. When I
listen to C, I hear little wrong with the sound. But when I switch to
A, things become much clearer. B is a good compromise, but if I have to
choose, I will set up A and C and that will be an easy switch on the
preamp.

Must sleep. Hope I am still making sense.
