I run a standard SB3 with a linear PSU into an Audio Research/Krell/Wilson-Benesch system and the sound quality is excellent. I use an external DAC (Audio Synthesis DAX Discrete) and the sound is as good as my Theta CD. Neither get close to vinyl but that is a different story!
