Well I've had my Transporter for a few weeks now and I have had chance
to hook it up to various bits and pieces and to have put it through its
paces.

Firstly the sound:
Clear crisp and although I’m 50 very pleasant to the ear. Compared to
the Slim3 it is without doubt Hi Hi-Fi. I’ve have three Slim3’s and
have been very happy with them, however when you turn up the volume you
can hear differences (mainly missing bits) compared to listing to a CD.
The Transporter is the same as a CD! I could go on all night about the
sound but lets just say it’s excellent. I play lossless and MP3’s
(192kbs and above)

Build quality:
Very very nice! The case, sockets, and even the “big knob” at the front
are beautifully made and put together. The Big Knob is rather strange at
first but does not take long to used to “the feedback”

Inputs/Outputs
The same standard applies as the above however when switching between
the “Network” and the “Optical S/PDIF” inputs there is generally a
crack! Even when the volume is down the same applies. The Coax input
does not appear to suffer from this problem. Hopefully this may be
rectified in a software update – at some time…

All in all a very nice bit of kit!
