If you turn the question around and ask if there are any advantages of WMA Lossless over FLAC I would have to say yes. I started off ripping my CDs with Windows Media Player. I liked the fact that I could move between WMA Lossless on the PC and automatically transcode the music to a somewhat reduced bitrate (but still good) to bring it with me on my phone, rate it there and then synchronise the rating back to my main library. I also liked the fact that the ripping and tagging process was so much easier on Windows Media Player. Even so, I made the decision to ditch my WMA Lossless music and re-rip everything with EAC into FLAC. The deciding factors for me were the open format and the fact that, at least I thought, I could trust EAC to do a better job at ripping the CDs than WMP (don't know if this is actually true nowadays). -- bergek Transporter - Squeezebox 3 - Serener GS-L02 - Via EPIA SP8000 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bergek's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7805 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30005 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
