Gosh what agreement, and I shall add to it.  The SB3 is fine to drive a
£2k system.

I would get the SB3, plus an amp and speakers that use up only 75% of
your budget.  Live with it for a month, and tweak (PSU, DAC, better
cables etc) only if you actually really want much better sounds.  Get
into speaker placement, contact cleaning and such like before spending
huge sums on equipment.  If you find it's good enough, have a splurge
on Amazon.

A slightly more radical bit of advice is to get stuff from ebay.  A
modern Chinese 40W valve amp plus a pair of Quad ESLs would be utterly
nutty, but threaten the high end, which a pair of Wharfedales will
never do.  And if you don't like them, you can sell them at little or
no loss.  This advice only applies if you truly want to join us audio
nutters though :)
