Would the amp upgrade really make much difference at this level? Wouldn't I be better off sticking with the cheaper amp and investing in better speakers? (I'm only going on what I've heard/read - would appreciate your thoughts.) Many thanks for the other advice - I shall have to invest some time listening in shops. I think Quad ESLs are out of the question for now, though. (They're those massive things, aren't they? Very expensive I expect. I heard a pair at the What HiFi/Best of Stuff show recently whilst they had Leftfield playing and they sounded awesome - so full of natural sound.) I have listened to the Diamond 9.1s with an RA-04 amp round a friend's house, and I was impressed. They sounded powerful enough for my front room (not a very big room) and seemed to be very precise and controlled. But as I said, I'll have to listen to some others.
