The difference that I noticed was 'marginal' - If I had not been testing side by side then I would admit that it would probably not have been really noticeable at all!
I also tried testing the Transporter Analogue Out into my Linn 5103 and compared that to the Transporter Digtal Out into the Linn 5103. I found that there was no difference (to my ears!). The Linn 5103 has a good reputation for the musical quality of its DAC and I wanted to see how it measured up alongside the Transporter's DAC. Both seem equally good. If you are wondering whether to make the upgrade for audiophile reasons, then I'd suggest that it's not worth it.
