This doesn't address the desire to see the Transporter display what
it's receiving, but you may not be sending what you think you are from
the Mac...

Just FYI, in case you're not aware of this, with certain classes of
digital output hardware, the machine's output sample rate and bit depth
are controlled by the not-entirely-obvious "Audio MIDI Setup"
application (in the Utilities subfolder of Applications).  I think that
(if the settings there aren't overridden elsewhere, in which case the
places you'd set things in Audio MIDI Setup should be locked out or
absent) machines generally output whatever is set there, resampling as
necessary, rather than outputting a multitude of changing digital
output formats at the whim of sound-producing applications.

(Yes, I can see both the pros and the cons of this model.)
