Interestingly I've lost 3 CD players (only one of which  - Linn Karik
III - could be repaired) but never lost a hard drive. As I have live
backups on Firewire disks I could be up and running again in less than
2 minutes - I've tried as a test. OK so a motherboard failure would
take longer - say 30 mins to rebuild. I keep a spare router just in
case.

I also have offsite (monthly) backups too - just in case. I couldn't
bear to re-rip the whole lot.

I wonder if you'll change your mind eventually ... I felt exactly the
same at the start of my SB journey.

Actually for me the biggest probblem was that 2000+ CD's was taking
over my house! Now they are in the loft, in crates.
