Interestingly I've lost 3 CD players (only one of which - Linn Karik III - could be repaired) but never lost a hard drive. As I have live backups on Firewire disks I could be up and running again in less than 2 minutes - I've tried as a test. OK so a motherboard failure would take longer - say 30 mins to rebuild. I keep a spare router just in case. I also have offsite (monthly) backups too - just in case. I couldn't bear to re-rip the whole lot. I wonder if you'll change your mind eventually ... I felt exactly the same at the start of my SB journey. Actually for me the biggest probblem was that 2000+ CD's was taking over my house! Now they are in the loft, in crates. -- Phil Leigh ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Phil Leigh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=85 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30812 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
