That's the thing: it becomes a features issue, really, and there aren't
many features.  I think the Lavry is ideal in many ways, because it is
tiny, it sounds great, and the company has an impeccable reputation. 
On the other hand, the BC looks great -- this counts, you know -- and
has a nice control button and display.  And a remote.  Apples,
oranges.

I'm a photographer and have had several hard drive failures.  One type
the files were not backed up to CD or DVD...and I had to have hundreds
of negatives and chromes re-scanned.  In short, I don't trust hard
drives as permanent records.  When I start ripping in earnest, I expect
to back up to a second hard drive and then burn DVDs.  But I will keep
my CDs!
