The DAC in a Squeezebox is almost certainly better than whatever is in
a Mac. It is also farther away from random noise that is within a
computer. Somewhere earlier today someone asked why Internet Radio
sounds so much better on his SB than on iTunes... meaning the quality
difference is noticable on 128k mp3 streams.

There would be no quality difference with a Squeezebox on wireless vs
wired: the only difference is robustness. Wireless networks are more
likely to drop a packet due to interference, but, then, some packet
loss is covered up by TCP and buffers. You would only notice it if the
loss was for more than an instant, usually from Microwave ovens,
cordless phones and neighboring systems. No quality loss in
traditional sense (you won't here static like a radio), but signal loss
if the interference is bad enough.

Depends on your ears.
