I have noticed that there are a lot of people out there who seem to have a belief that they can improve the performance of almost anything by modifying its original design.
Do those folks also modify their cars, refrigerators, microwave ovens, printers, cameras, calculators, and etc., or does this concept apply only to audio equipment? What is the origin of this urge? Where do folks who are often unskilled/unschooled in electronics get the confidence that they can improve on something designed by highly trained engineers? Hmmmmm.
