The FC is budget studio kit. I presume you are referring to the 24-bit version (not the older 20-bit version). Very solid gear - I used to use one for mix monitoring. I'm not sure it would be an upgrade over the SB3 DAC, but it is really an ADC/DAC and very handy if you want the ADC capability. I'd say it was as good as an ADC as anyhting below say an Apogee. At the end of the day if possible you should try it and see.
