The Linkwitz Orions are my next targeted component for upgrade investigation...
I plan to arrange an audition as soon as I can. Linkwitz seems to go further than AVI. Linkwitz has an active powered crossover ahead of the amp and one amp channel for each speaker. 8 channels of 60 watts each, or the equivalent of 240wpc. Personally my HT is all bipolar, so I am sold on dipoles. Sadly, I didn't do enough research before my current speaker purchase decision. I saw them on the net only AFTER I made my current purchase decision... Not that the current decision is bad, just that there is much better out there for only a bit more... One issue for me is my current room may not be large enough to support them, so I need to do more investigation before I buy. Currently I am doing SB3 -> Bryston 3B SST -> Paradigm Studio 60 V.4 so I am sold on the minimalist approach. The Tp to replace the SB3 is on the way. And as much as I am liking the Studio 60s, I am really really interested in Linkwitz' approach. The reviews are amazing and the price point compared to ESLs or magnetic planars seems great. I just got the current system and am already thinking about the next upgrade.
