I would not mimimize how positive this review is. Wes Phillips liked it a great deal and basically said he liked it better than the SB3 through a Musical Fidelity DAC, which is a pretty darned good digital source. Atkinson's measurements show superb performance of both the DAC and the analog output stage. Overall, the review was consistent with that of many much higher priced stand-alone CD players. In combination with Doug Schneider's review on the Soundstage network I think one can fairly assert that the mainstream audiophile press has given very very good marks to the Transporter. As a fairly mainstream audiophile who has seriously compared his Transporter to both the Linn Sondek CD12 and the Ayre C5x-e Wes uses as his reference I concur. Congratulations to Sean and his team. It is not easy to win over the audiophile community on the first try.
