Yes but turning down the digital level one must turn up the analog (most amplifiers) level to get the same perceived SPL. If I had a track that was really, really quiet and needed turn my amplifier's volume to 11 in order to get decent SPL, what effect - if any - does this have on the amplifier going into clip-mode?
