EAC is certainly a more accurate ripping tool, but for a CD in good condition there should not be much, if any, difference. CD's with some damage should be another matter, as EAC should be superior here.
Assuming the same rip, lossless compression is lossless compression, so once you decompress you will have the same sonic quality. Now, it could matter how you are streaming to the SB. For example, I have read here of instances where people thought that the SB sounded better when streaming WAV than when streaming FLAC. The speculation was that SB's on-board processing of the FLAC file made a sonic difference. Whether this is true (or was true - I think the hypothesis was made many firmware versions past) I have no idea. -- jeffmeh ------------------------------------------------------------------------ jeffmeh's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3986 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32212 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
