Many tubes emit a blue glow when stray electrons hit the glass envelope. This has nothing to do with performance but can be very pretty. The heated cathodes glow orange, of course. In my living room, two DIY 300B single-ended monoblocks (total of ten tubes) sit next to an SB3 and a plasma TV: a combination that is a sure conversation icebreaker when guests come over. I also have a DIY DAC, so I can't say anything special about SB3/tube compatibility. moshulu -- moshulu ------------------------------------------------------------------------ moshulu's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6811 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32099 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
